E. Did you know your chiropractor may help with…
irritability, asthma, colic, head asymmetry, feeding difficulties,
bedwetting, AD/HD, constipation, learning difficulties, sleeping
difficulties, ear infections, allergies, reflux/vomiting, headaches
...
A boy jumps on a trampoline. Then descends – see the dancing
hair. With spirit floating, he shoots up once more, his body climbing.
Then it slows. Then it stops. His world disappears momentarily –
nothing – just stillness in time. It is captured. Then he
starts his descent. Down and down, the trampoline reloads. Only
to relaunch a moment later. Shades of grey animate this universal
play, as the lightness of being is carried in the boy’s upgoing
hair and softest tones. Here the ‘big picture’ is offered
- that chiropractic can do miracles. The impossible is considered,
the uncurable child is relit with the flame of hope. The helpless
parent may feel that warmth – with grace, anything is possible...
Artist’s note:
Lots of movement here, so fast shutter speed again. Using a short
focal length (by zooming in), we soften the focus of the background,
creating a dreamlike backdrop, particularly with the grass textures
and tones. The plan was to suspend the hair, without overdoing it
and getting an ‘electric shock’ effect. I also wanted
to crop the top of the head to generate a ‘snap-shot’
quality, again conveying motion. Some artists would say, “Get
rid of those distracting objects in the background.” A reasonable
point. But I chose an angle to include the garage and the edge of
the cubby house, as it conveys the intimate ‘backyard’
feel. I am happy with the outcome. When scanning the prints, there
were some dust marks. Clearing these was the only post-production
required. On the first shoot, take your time with exposure, aperture,
position, and framing, so there are fewer headaches later. PC
